Some people really enjoy redecorating their living spaces. It’s a creative outlet for them, from the planning to the shopping to the final product.
I love seeing what people come up with, and wish I shared their talents, but my creativity emerges in stories, not design and decoration. Plus, there’s the financial aspect, that I just can’t spend a lot of money on “extras.”
But the other day I was shopping and saw big, flowery pillows that just so happened to be the colors of my living room. On a whim, I bought two, one for each end of the couch. And I have to tell you...I’m delighted, feel like they’ve spruced up the whole place!
And it made me wonder what other inexpensive things could be done to jazz up someone’s personal space. Like:
--a back-of-a-bedroom door mirror
--a corner ceiling net for a collection of stuffed animals
--a bulletin board by the computer
--a new blanket for a dorm room
And...and...
Well, I’m no expert! But I thought I’d throw this out to our YA Fresh readers and see what you can come up with, as well. Who knows, maybe by summer’s end, my flowery pillows will “grow” and spread to other new and different decorating things. (Hey, it could happen. LOL.)

Tina,
I'm with you. I'm NOT a decorator. Just ask anyone who knows me. Well, don't ask.
But I do like to bring in the roses from the front yard. They add color, smell and cost nothing except maybe a thorn prick or two while getting them from in between the lemon tree.
Janie, what a terrific idea! Thank you!
These are very cute and reusable!

I don't know about items, but I have a habit of rearranging furniture in rooms for a new look! The kids enjoy and it feels like something new. :) :)
Cool, Meredith! Re-positionable stickers! Wow.
And Kelly, I really like your idea about simply rearranging, too. My dad used to do that all the time when I was growing up.
