Graffiti Girl Giveaway: What's your hobby?

Like my character Angel in Graffiti Girl, I was a teen artist in high school. I even had friends who were into graffiti art. I had tried my hand at the graffiti style on paper designs, but I pretty much flunked as a graffiti artist in training. :)

But if there was an art class, I took it.

In art class, you are able to experiment with a variety of mediums. I remember learning so much. I designed artworks with acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, linoleum blocks, scratchboard and collages. We created still lifes, ceramics, and even paper mache masks.

I loved it. :) In a way, all my years of experimenting with art shaped me into who I am today.

For my giveaway, I'd love to hear your high school interests or hobbies. What is or was the activity for you in high school? Sports? Clubs? Music? Drama? Skating? Just hanging out with your friends?

Please leave me an answer in the comments and I'll pick a winner on Friday to win an autographed copy of Graffiti Girl and some promotional items! :) :)

This is going to be fun, everyone!

I'm not entering the contest--I HAVE my own autographed copy, thanks to Kelly--but I'd like to start it off saying that in high school, my #1 hobby (you're gonna be really surprised here--NOT)...was writing. Sometimes I'd write stories down, sometimes I'd type them up, and sometimes I just let them float in my head. It was my main source of amusement and the way I often worked through problems.

Okay, who's next? Give it a go...and I hope you win!

Oh, fun! :) My first love was fostering kittens for the local Humane Society. I couldn't get enough! I'd bottle feed babies and then take them to adopt-a-thons and match them up with the right home. I'm not doing that right now, but I certainly hope to do it again! :)

Weird child that I was, I used to design houses (floorplans, furniture layouts, the whole shebang). :)

Well, seeing as I'm still in high school, this shouldn't be too hard... :)

Acting is my passion. I love to participate in all sorts of drama - from movie-making with my friends, to musical theater, to children's theater productions. I'm all over performing.

Well, I'm still in high school, so I have to think about this!

I suppose I have three favorites! I love to sing; I'm in one of the choirs at my school. I also love to read all different types of book, and write poetry! [:

I've always been a language nerd. in second grade, my friends and I invented a language game where one person says a word, then everybody has to say that word in a foreign language they know.

In high school, I also became a professional social person, even though I was never part of the "in" crowd. I'd make up stories about people I'd allegedly met and all the cool stuff we did.

Then I found computer games. Ahhh, fond memories...

Collecting movie ticket stubs. I'm not sure when--or why--I started doing that. But I know that I have a stub from, like, 1984. I even remember when movies were only $2.50! No matter what time of the day you went.

I still collect them now. I also save my concert tickets and theater tickets (though no speeding tickets. Don't get those).

My hobby is collecting nail polish. I have a whole wire basket full of bottles in all colors, shapes and sizes. Like Erin and suchimpulse, I'm in high school, too, but I've been collecting since I was about 10.

I'm not in the drawing either since my copy is in transit from Amazon (in Hazelwood, Mo at last check!)
I was a band geek (clarinet)in high school & did marching band and everything. Our costumes were made of this horrible wool that made me break out in hives the first time I wore it. My big geeky hat saved my life once though. I was standing on the sidelines waiting to go on for the half-time show and the kicker guy (sorry, I so don't do sports)kicked the football and it landed directly on my head. I just stood there in a daze for a few minutes while everyone rushed around me to make sure I didn't have brain damage! Yeah, that was a tad humiliating!
xo,
Steph

Okay. My most favorite hobby is.... ACTING! I Love to act. It has been my all time passion since 1st grade. I act all the time, or at least make it theatrical. I love the feeling of being on stage with everyone watching you with the hot lights on your face, knowing you must be good to keep the illusion going for them, your audience. That's why I love it, I'm sure.

Oh I hope it's not too late to leave a comment!

I think my hobby in High School is/was the kind of art that I like, pretty connected to graffiti I belive. I had friends who did graffiti when I was younger, and I thought it was soo cool! Unfortunatelly they got caught just before I was going to paint with them and it scared me.. Since then I still love graffiti and street art, but I just do my own art on paper or computer nowdays..
