Rachel Vincent's The Reaper

Some time ago I downloaded a free novella to my Kindle: The Reaper by Rachel Vincent. I had certainly heard of Ms. Vincent's Soul Screamers series, but as someone who doesn't generally lean toward paranormal stories, had not actually read any of them. The fact that this book was FREE was incentive enough for me to try it.

And was I glad I did! It's beautifully written, sharp, edgy, and a real page turner. So if you have a Kindle, follow that link and download it too. (As of this writing, it is still listed as FREE.) And I'll bet you'll do as I did: suddenly have to buy the rest of the books, as well!

And tell us, if you will, have FREE e-books enticed you towards books you might not normally have picked up, as well?

Great recommendation! I have read free downloads on series and have been hooked. It's a great way to get new readers. :) :)

Absolutely they have! I tend to stick to the same genre (why even read a book if there's no kissing involved?!?!?!?!?) so I've been tempted into some mystery, suspense, historical fiction, and paranormal. Often I have loved the stories I've gotten and have ended up reading whole series or anything written by that author. I think authors need to be careful how often they do it though... it's a great tool to introduce people to you, but people should pay for authors hard work. Just saying.

Checking in from the Romantic Times Connvention in Los Angeles: I complimented a woman's shoes and we got into a chat--and turned out it was none other than Rachel Vincent! We chatted about the series and she told me that The Reaper will remain a free download! Fun coincidence!
