OVERTONE Giveaway!

So the other night I was in a club in Hollywood...wait, that sounds like an opening to a joke, huh? Me, Tina Ferraro, in a club in Hollywood? I’m the lady who lives in front of a computer in cat-hair covered sweatpants.

But no, really, I was all dressed up and in a club in Hollywood, because members of my family were congregating to hear the terrific a cappella band from South Africa, Overtone.

If the band’s name is familiar to you, it’s probably because they did the soundtrack for Clint Eastwood’s movie, Invictus. Maybe you even saw them perform on Ellen?

In any case, they were great fun to see in concert, super-talented, and really got the crowd going--clapping, singing, dancing. All seven of them are between the ages of 20 and 25, and bring some real powerful energy to the stage. And I must name-drop to say that the audience members included Clint Eastwood himself, as was Invictus’s star, Morgan Freeman!

I understand that Overtone is about to embark on an American tour, and while I don’t have that schedule, thought it would be fun to do an Overtone CD giveaway.

All you have to do is leave a comment telling us your favorite
Clint Eastwood movie. (For teens who aren’t familiar with his films, or those who need refreshers, click on his name for a link to his movie data base.)

Good luck! The winner will be announced here on Monday.

For classic Clint I have to say Outlaw Josey Wales. But for more current hits I'd say Gran Torino

Hi Tina! Saw your post on Facebook and just had to swing over from the Romance Bandits blog and play.

I didn't realize it for a long time, but 'ol Clint's one of my fav actors. As to the Olde Stuffe - Hang 'em High and Kelly's Heroes.

Medium Olde Stuffe - Outlaw Josie Wales

New Stuffe - Space Cowboys and In the Line of Fire.

Loved the a capella group. Love a capella and used to sing in a group, but nothing like THIS stuff! :> Haven't seen Invictus yet. How is it? And totally cool, BTW, on being all dressed up hearing them live. Grins.

I would have to vote for Gran Torino - as a great movie that I can still recall in detail! ... and as a side note I have heard Overtone and they are terrific!

You know, I never used to be a huge Clint Eastwood fan, but I really thought he was great as both director & actor in Gran Torino.

I'd have to say Gran Torino.

Hi, Hollywood Tina! It's so hard to choose one movie from an incredible body of work, but how could I go past the iconic Dirty Harry?

As usual, I'm a weird mix of comedy and kick-yer-rear action. Loved all his films, but ANY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE & DIRTY HARRY are my two favorites.

And yeah, I feel lucky, punk! (about winning the freebie *G*)

I've seen almost all of his movies (the spaghetti westerns crack. me. up), but I really liked him in Gran Torino. And I wanted to see Invictus when it came out, but never got a chance. Guess I'll wait till it comes on cable.
