To help our readers learn more about her successful paranormal series, I asked Tera to give us a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the trilogy.
Tera: As an author, in my heart I am a pantser. I prefer to think up a character and a world or situation and just dive right in without figuring out where I'm going ahead of time. With the SWEET VENOM trilogy, it was different. I wrote a reasonably detailed synopsis of the first book when I sold it to my publisher and I also had rough sketches of books two and three, including a final scene in a coffee shop with the triplets and their boys.
As I worked through the trilogy, new characters and subplots and plot twists showed up, and while a lot of things went according to my general plan, a lot of things didn't. So I was pretty thrilled when I got to the final scene of the final book, and it ended up being the triplets and their boys hanging out in a coffee shop. Of course another character made a surprise appearance, but all in all it ended exactly how I'd planned. I'm pretty sure that will never happen again.
Terrific, Tera. Sounds like it was meant to be!
I encourage our readers to check out the whole series, and leave comments about these or other books of Tera's that you've enjoyed.
