The MERCURY IN RETRO LOVE Giveaway!

We are happy to welcome author Janie Emaus today, to talk about her young adult novel, Mercury in Retro Love!

Hi, Janie! Please tell us about your novel, MERCURY IN RETRO LOVE.

Janie: This is a story about crushes, conflicts and astrological confusion. Finally, after years of making love predictions for her friends, fifteen-year-old astrologer, Emma Seigel, sees a boyfriend in her future. But there’s one big problem. Mercury is heading for Retrograde in four weeks, and she sure knows what that means. It’s like an astrological PMS.

A disastrous time to start a new relationship. She needs to act quickly. Using her school newspaper column, Emmastrology, she sets a plan in motion and within a week lands hottie Evan Randolph as her boyfriend. She’s a Taurus. He’s a Capricorn. Both earth signs. But is he as perfect as her prediction claims him to be?

The stars are telling her it’s right. But her heart says it’s all wrong. Everyday her feelings are growing stronger for someone else, a Leo, so totally not the sign for her. And to make matters even worse, Emma’s actions, caused by her unflinching belief in astrology, get her in trouble with her best friends in the whole world. Time is running out. Can Emma straighten up this mess she’s in before Mercury goes Retrograde again?

Have you always wanted to be a writer?

Janie: Yes. I've been writing since I was little girl.

What's up next? Do you have another project in the works? If so, please tell us about it.

Janie: I am currently working on a YA time travel about a girl who goes back in time and hangs out with her teenaged mom. I'm really excited about this story and anxious to get it to my agent. And due to one of my secret superstitions, I can't say much more about it.

Quick! You’ve been chosen to go on Survivor. What luxury item do you take?

Janie: OMG! This is hard. I never watch Survivor. I guess my iPad, loaded with tons of books. Or some good hair conditioner so that my hair wouldn't get totally knotted up and would look halfway decent on the show.

Care to close with a writing tip?

Janie: I have three words: Perseverance, perseverance, perseverance. Write every day and believe in yourself. I've accumulated enough rejections to wallpaper my office with some left over. And try not to sign any contracts during Mercury in Retrograde.

I am not only going to say that the book sounds terrific--I happen to know that is it, for I read it last month when it came out in e-format.  It is now available in paperback...and in celebration, we are giving away not one, but two copies!

In order to be one of the two randomly chosen winners (inside the U.S. only), all you need to do to enter is tell us, in the comments, your astrological sign.  Easy-peasy!  And check back on Monday to learn the winners' names!

Hey, Katsura, thanks for asking about international shipping. No, in this case, I am afraid it is not open to outside-of-US readers, but periodically we give away Amazon gift cards, and that's open to all. Be sure to keep checking back!

I'm a Scorpio. Mysterious and passionate. Technically I'm on the cusp, but I think I fall into more of the Scorpio personality. Maybe I don't want to admit that.

Congrats on the book release!!
